The box set DVD has spawned a long list of catchphrases that I never seem to tire of,much to the chagrin of my loved ones and its a definit e pick me up when you have had a bad day!Ī definite must for Eddie Izzard fans both old and new. There are some epic comedy moments, and Izzard is a mastery of mime, and not afraid to take the mickey out of himself! He also makes a few satirical comments that are totally spot on!Īlthough 'Definite Article' can fall a little flat in places, 'Unrepeatable' makes up for it (particularly the end!, and there are some bloody good laugh out loud moments in 'Dress to Kill' as well!!Needless to say, there has been many an occasion when I have been crying with laughter! I really only bought this after watching the magnificent 'Glorious' and as the stand alone DVD of 'Glorious' was pretty pricey, this seemed like a bargain!! How right I was to purchase it! Unrepeatable was recorded one night at the Albery Theatre in March 1994, when Eddie Izzard was playing a limited seven week sold-out run of his celebrated stand-up show. I do recognise, however, that his humour is quite an acquired taste, but for those who appreciate Izzard’s style, I would recommend this set as it brings together such strong performances. There were times when, especially in 'Dressed to Kill', I was reduced to tears of laughter by his surreal sketches and mime accompanied observations. 'Glorious' and 'Dressed to Kill' display, I would argue, some of Izzard’s funniest recorded moments.

On the contrary, these are still prime examples of the man’s talent i t’s just that by the time of 'Glorious' and 'Dressed to Kill' he had gained a more confident presence on stage in front of the cameras.

She had a starring role in the television series The Riches as Wayne Malloy and has. Izzard's works include stand-up sets Unrepeatable, Definite Article, Glorious, Dress to Kill, Circle, Sexie and Stripped. Her comedy style takes the form of rambling, whimsical monologue and self-referential pantomime. This is not to say they aren’t funny though. Edward John 'Eddie' Izzard (born 7 February 1962) is an English stand-up comedian and actor. In terms of the shows, 'Unrepeatable' and 'Definite Article' are two of Izzard’s earlier recorded performances, and as such are less polished than his later work. There are no additional features included specially for the box set. The discs don’t contain much in the way of extras, but you do get a couple of documentaries and the bizarre ‘Lust for Glorious’, which you would have got if you bought the DVDs separately anyway. The shows, 'Unrepeatable', 'Definite Article', 'Glorious' and 'Dressed to Kill', present Izzard's pre-'Sexie' tours in all their brilliance and are a worthwhile purchase for any fan. The set contains four DVDs showcasing Eddie Izzard at his eccentric best.
